In October 2018 I got hired as an Interaction Designer for Twinfield Accounting and Collaboration within Wolters Kluwer (WK). In collaboration with multiple cross-functional teams, I have worked over the past years on maturing and advancing the two products.
Responsibilities
Current:
- Interaction designer within Agile team that’s responsible for maintaining and maturing design system and migrating old Angular based page towards it.
- Close collaborate with global product design system team with maturing the design system. Twinfield got a leading role within WK as an early adopter.
- Product designer for general ledger, VAT, invoicing, budgeting and templating projects.
- Innovation project on machine learning and anomaly detection.
- Greenfield project.
- Lead restyling of Classic pages.
In the past:
- Setup design system Twinfield Accounting in new Agile team.
- Design assets in Sketch and Abstract.
- Written documentation in Confluence.
- Migrate design system assets Twinfield Accounting from Sketch to Figma.
- Improve and maintain the design system of Twinfield Collaboration.
- Designing and assisting implementation of new page flows and patterns in Twinfield Collaboration.
New design system
To announce the new design system and upcoming chrome changes I created a demo video to inform and enthuse other colleagues. The demo was well received within the organisation. Currently we are working on implementing all the required changes.
With the new design system many other components got a major redesign. Changing all the old Angular pages at once towards the new design system would be a fantasy. So we carefully planned the migration. As designer I set clear goals to keep a general alignment with the Angular design patterns. With the goal to keep the muscle memory of users in tact.
We also took the oppertunity to improve the accessibility with improving support for keyboard shortcuts and mobile screens.

Years of care-full planning and preparation have gone in these migrations. At the moment we are migrating every month several pages to the new design system.
